What kind of vehicle will we use during the tour?
All of our jeeps were built during the Cold War era, in the Soviet Union (now Russia) between 1952-1978. They are genuine vintage vehicles where you can feel the smell of gasoline and hear the rattling parts. Models: GAZ-69, UAZ-469B. The authorities and we both continuously check the technical condition of our vehicles, so they are safe to travel in.
Due to the vehicles' age and original military purpose, they do not have built-in safety belts. Compulsory safety belts were introduced in the mid-1970s, after these vehicles were manufactured. Rest assured, our drivers are experienced and always operate the vehicles at a slow pace.
How do I book a tour? - Payment options
On each tour page, you'll find a "Book Now" button that leads to a booking calendar showing available time slots. Once you select a time, we'll ask for your phone number, pickup address and some details. A €100 deposit payment is required at the time of booking. Our payment provider is Stripe, where you can easily pay by card, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. You'll receive an instant email confirmation with your booking details. The remaining payment can be made either through a payment link before the tour or by card/cash on-site
Why should I choose this tour among the many Budapest programs?
Because with us, you'll see more of Budapest in 3 hours than you would on a two-day bus tour. Additionally, we'll take you to many places where tourist buses cannot go, like the Jewish Quarter, Buda Castle District with the Fisherman’s Bastion or Gellert Hill panorama point.
The open-top jeep creates a sense of the open space, allowing you to see the streets from a different perspective and appreciate the details of building facades.
Who should take this tour?
This tour offers a perfect introduction to Budapest. After visiting numerous attractions, you'll be able to decide which areas deserve a longer visit later.
It's also ideal for travelers with limited time in Budapest who want to experience as much of the city as possible.
Those who love the vintage vehicle vibes.
What explanation is provided during the tour?
Your driver speaks excellent English and is happy to share information and give you recommendations on how to spend your time in Budapest. The sight explanations are provided via audio guide in several languages: English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Licensed Budapest guide service is available upon request for an extra charge, please contact us.
What happens if it rains or it's chilly during winter?
From April to mid-October, we operate with open-top jeeps. In case of all-day rain, the jeep will pick you up with a transparent rain cover.
In autumn and winter, we use jeeps with transparent covers, and polar fleece blankets are always available. During winter, all jeeps feature seat heating for your comfort. If it's raining or snowing, we provide umbrellas at each stop.
How many passengers can travel in the jeep?
Our jeeps accommodate 4-7 passengers. For maximum comfort, we recommend 4 passengers per jeep. However, if you'd like to travel as a group, 6-7 people can ride together.
Pick-up and Drop-off
Your comfort is our top priority! We'll pick you up at your central hotel or at a restaurant if you're having lunch. If you have another program afterward, we'll drop you off there!
Important: Please let us know your drop-off address in advance so we can plan the route to show you as much of the city as possible!
Pick-up or drop-off points outside downtown require advanced arrangement—please contact us directly.
What's included in the tour price?
We want you to enjoy touring with us! Every passenger receives mineral water (in all seasons) and chilled drinks in warm weather: beer or prosecco. In winter, we serve mulled wine with fresh orange.
You shouldn't miss tasting our quality homemade Pálinka (fruit brandy). We Hungarians like to say pálinka is medicine—it kills all germs and viruses while making you cheerful. We serve this "medical treatment" at one of our stops at no extra charge. Kids under 18 cannot drink alcohol, so please message us in advance about your child's favorite soft drink, and we'll do our best to have it ready.
Can I cancel or modify my tour date and time?
We understand that unexpected events can disrupt travel plans, so we always try to find a solution.
We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour, and rescheduling is possible with more than 24 hours' notice, subject to availability. In case of no-show, the tour price is non-refundable since the car and driver are reserved for you. As we cannot sell tour spots at the last minute, we appreciate your understanding. Please contact us via email or WhatsApp message (we cannot answer phone calls while driving).
What age is suitable for participation?
We've had guests ranging from infants to 102-year-old war veterans. There's no age limit—just enjoy the beauty of the city and the sense of freedom on our jeep. If you need a child safety seat, please let us know in advance. Our driver operates the vehicle safely and at a slow pace!
Do you accommodate people with limited mobility?
The vehicle is a military jeep built with a high-rise design. We provide a plastic step to make getting in and out of the car more comfortable. However, people with limited mobility may find the large step difficult to manage. The jeeps do not have ramps for wheelchair access, so unfortunately, we currently cannot accommodate people with limited mobility.
Can I request a custom tour?
Yes, of course. Within the booked time frame, your driver can tailor the tour to your interests and give you ideas about what's worth seeing. We can also recommend restaurants, entertainment venues, and provide tips on visiting or booking attractions—while warning you about potential scams.
Is the tour pet-friendly?
We welcome all pet owners! The owner is a committed animal lover (he has a rescued dog himself). You're welcome to bring your favorite pet along without any extra charges. If you let us know in advance, we'll prepare a drinking bowl and fresh water for your dog. We ask just one thing: at the end of the tour, please send us a photo of your pet "posing" in the jeep!
Can we bring bags on the tour?
Though the jeeps have limited capacity, you can bring your backpack or baby stroller—they'll fit perfectly in the storage area. We're always here to find the best solution for you. Our motto is: "Nothing is impossible!"
Can I request a group program?
Yes! We welcome corporate events, team building activities, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and friend groups of any size—from 1 to 86 people. In 2024, we successfully accommodated a group of 76 participants from Air France's Budapest conference. Simply send us your special requirements, and we'll organize the perfect experience for you!
